Dukhtaran-e-Millat on Monday expressed grave concern over the deteriorating health condition of party chairperson, Syedah Aasiyeh Andrabi and also over the lack of treatment facilities available to diagnose and treat her multiple ailments. In a statement, DeM general secretary, Nahida Nasreen, said that Andrabi Sahiba was on Thursday taken to the SMHS hospital by the jail authorities for treatment as she had been advised to conduct a magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and bone dexa scan by the doctors. “As she is an asthma patient she wasn’t able to go through the closed MRI procedure and felt suffocated inside the facility and had to be taken out immediately,” she added. She said that considering Andrabi Sahiba’s conition, the doctors advised her to go for an open MRI. “ Ironically, the open MRI facility isn’t available at any hospital in Kashmir,” she said. Nasreen said that the party chairman had also been advised to get a dexa bone. “Unfortunately, this facility too isn’t available at the hospitals here and she has been suffering for the past many months inside the jails,” she added. “It is ironic to see that why the puppet government is not making the requisite treatment available to her while it has kept her detained illegally,” she added. Nasreen said that the puppet government’s irresponsible attitude towards the DeM chairperson only exposes the plot being hatched to kill her in custody. “ These facilities are available in private and as she is in prolonged illegal custody, it is an obligation for this puppet regime make available the necessary treatment and diagnosis to Andrabi Sahiba,” she added. She said that few days back she was diagnosis with angioedema and it also needs further investigations to be properly treated. “If this disease is also ignored, it will prove dangerous to her health,” Nasreen added. Nasreen said that all these measures should be taken care of as soon as possible. “ Any harm caused to the health of Andrabi Sahiba will not be tolerated,” she added.
